May 31st,Saturday. As part of community team work from Goldman , we,eight volunteers from Goldman, went to a high school in Brooklyn.
Around 25 people , including volunteers from Art of Living and students from this school participated in this event. We drew three murals, one you could see on the back of the picture on the right, emphasizing the need for a better environment for future.
Our day started at 7:45A.M when we decided to meet at Cafe Bravo at 11 Hanover sq. We reached the school at 9:00A.M. right at the time when the volunteers from AOL were offloading the equipments and paints for the mural activity. To many Goldman volunteer's surprise , we started the activity after doing a few pranayams and meditation. While we were doing yoga, the sketchers were outlining the murals on three walls.
We thought that we would finish painting by 3:00P.M. However , we went on painting till 4:30P.M as there were several intricate details involved in the painting. We were really amazed at the final product. Everyone enjoyed the activity. We concluded the activity by sharing our experiences. This activity would remain as one of my most cherished activity as this is my first project as team captain in Goldman.
