Community Team Work at High School of TeleCommunication Art and Tech

May 31st,Saturday. As part of community team work from Goldman , we,eight volunteers from Goldman, went to a high school in Brooklyn.
Around 25 people , including volunteers from Art of Living and students from this school participated in this event. We drew three murals, one you could see on the back of the picture on the right, emphasizing the need for a better environment for future.

Our day started at 7:45A.M when we decided to meet at Cafe Bravo at 11 Hanover sq. We reached the school at 9:00A.M. right at the time when the volunteers from AOL were offloading the equipments and paints for the mural activity. To many Goldman volunteer's surprise , we started the activity after doing a few pranayams and meditation. While we were doing yoga, the sketchers were outlining the murals on three walls.

We thought that we would finish painting by 3:00P.M. However , we went on painting till 4:30P.M as there were several intricate details involved in the painting. We were really amazed at the final product. Everyone enjoyed the activity. We concluded the activity by sharing our experiences. This activity would remain as one of my most cherished activity as this is my first project as team captain in Goldman.

How i met your mother

My roommate downloaded a serial called "How i met your mother" a few weeks ago. I watched a few episodes when i had some free time. Slowly i got attracted to this serial. I watched all the three seasons and now following every episode on CBS. This serial is similar to "Friends" and have similar characters. It depicts the typical lifestyle of working bachelors in New York

The main character in the serial is Ted who narrates the background story. Ted describes to his children how he met their mother. The script writer could maintain the suspense very well till now.

My favorite character in this serial is Barney. He is simply awesome !!! In fact that his is tag line. His character is very well sketched just like "Joey" in "Friends".

My favourite female character is of course Robin, not because of acting skills but because of her looks.

Self-introspection

Two years ago if somebody would have asked me what are your strengths and weaknesses , what are your likes or dislikes, what do you wanna do in life, i would have taken ages to reply those questions. Why ? Because i have never done self-introspection. In fact nobody told me to do so. But i think self-introspection is a great exercise. Everyone should do it at least once in his/her life. The earlier you do , the clearer your thoughts will be , the better you can control your future.

Well , let me be very clear that self-introspection is not that easy. You don't know where to begin and where to end.Particularly, the deeper you think, the broader your options will be , the crazier you might become if you can't control your thoughts. The last part of my last sentence might scare some people and they might even decide not to do self-introspection. But the truth is only by experimenting you can fathom deep into our hearts and know who you are. Once your soul becomes hallow and you can glean through it from one end to the other end, your life becomes what i call JHAKAAS !!!

Ugadhi 2008

Last Sunday was a memorable day. It's been long since i have attended or celebrated any Indian festival. Thanks to Srini, we had a great Ugadhi evening this year. Surprisingly , more people attended than we had anticipated. Srini and I planned the whole evening. We started the evening with guest's introduction , followed by dumb sharades , audio-video round and finally karaoke.

The best part of the evening was food. We had 4 varieties of curries, Sambar, rasam, pongal , three varieties of sweets , garelu , bobattlu .... the list goes on. Also everyone was wearing colorful dresses. So i really felt as if we were celebrating the festival at home in India.

I also watched 'Jalsa' movie in the morning. I was 30 mins late for the movie. I didn't like the movie. I went there with least expectations but still i didn't like it. Particularly songs picturization was not good.

Lazy weekend !!

Today i went to watch 21. Nice movie. I liked the plot. The movie has some of the best hollywood actors such as Laurence Fishburn , Kevin Spacy. This weekend i had planned to do a lot of stuff but ended up watching two movies. Yesterday i watched Aradhana , a 1962 movie, starring Savithri and ANR. Guess what , i really really enjoyed the movie. Old is gold!!

Last year , at this time of the year , i was very anxious waiting for my H1B application to be submitted. I missed my H1 before last year. So i was kind of desperate last year. Luckily i got two H1B 's !!!

I need to start working on my part-time MBA app asap. The deadline is May 15th.

Next weekend planning to organize a get-together for UGADHI at Srinivas's place. Planning to call around 10-12 people and have some nice time.

My favourite song

It's been long since i have last blogged. Of late i have been listening to a lot of bollywood music. I started liking a lot of songs. But the best among my favourites is "Tum mile ....Janne dil ko mere kya huwa ..." from the movie "My name is Anthony Gonsalves". The music is awesome for this song. I started liking Pritam's music a lot nowadays ... I watched the video of this song too. Amrita rao is looking ravishing . For anyone who is interested in the lyrics of this song here you go ...

(tum mile jaane dil ko mere kya huwa, jaane mere dil ko kya huwa
bekhar har dhadkan tadapane lagi, jaane mere dil ko kya huwa) - 2

main hain to huwa khud se juda, hai tera kaisa asar
hai bheed mein tanhaayiyaan, ?? yeh kis mod par
meri nazar ko iss tarah teri nazar ne chhuva
bechainiyaan aisi badhi, mera sukoon gum huwa
har ghadi ek ajab sa hai chhaaya nasha, jaane mere dil ko kya huwa

hum dono toh chup hai magar, bole hai ghaamoshiyaan
aate nahin hum hosh mein, kaisi yeh madhoshi
hum ko nahi kuchh bhi pata, kaise deewaane hai hum
roke se bhi abb na ruke deewaanagi mein kadam
?? mein dhadkano ka hasin silsila, jaane mere dil ko kya huwa
tum mile jaane dil ko mere kya huwa, jaane mere dil ko kya huwa
